Hi there!

I am writing this article to remind myself of how much growth I made in a year. My birthday was on the 9th of October, which is usually a mark that reminds me of starting my journey into mobile application development using flutter and dart. This years' was a remarkable one. I mean there was no obvious celebration and all. But reflecting on how much I've grown and achieved in a year, I smiled. wiped my tears and now I am back to doing all the scary things I always avoided.

This not-so-technical-article is going to be a prelude to a series of technical articles that I will be sharing with the community. As some may already know, I derive so much joy talking about technical terms, but most especially when I need to explain to them using food recipes and amazing new dishes.

LET ME INTRODUCE MYSELF

My name is Cynthia Chidera Peter, popularly known as "Obiagu" on Twitter, that combination already tells you that I am female and from the eastern part of Nigeria - preferably referred to as the Igbo's. I take so much pride in my tribe and culture and do my best to represent positively.

I have a Diploma in computer science. And some certifications here and thereπŸ˜‚ as my Nigerian folks would say. In my early days, I dabbled into visual basic, graphics design, content writing, blogging, Social media marketing, data science, and a series of programming languages that I obviously failed at.😣 Well, I learned from all these experiences and these I will share in my blog.

However, my biggest win has been going from not knowing what flutter is on the 6th of October 2019 to landing my first job at a tech company in September 2020, and what's better? I work remotely.πŸ’ƒπŸΏπŸ’ƒπŸΏπŸ’ƒπŸΏ The experience has been crazy, but worth it. I've had days I cried, days I broke my stuff when I throw a fit, there were days I just wanted to stop trying. But all thanks to some really good and supportive friends, I had to keep going.

In the next few months and years, as I learn and struggle through this path to becoming a better mobile app developer and technical writer, I also wish to share my experiences and this includes the mumblings, small wins, big wins, technical shots, all the tips I learned on this journey and the hacks that worked. I am horrible at consistency, but I hope for this one time, y'all amazing humans will hold me accountable.

Finally, I hope that this blog brings not just information, but inspiration and motivation for everyone that's on a path to becoming better.

Thank you for reading!
